The Wall Street Journal takes a deep dive into the world of socks and addresses questions on its history, trendsetters, price points and care.

Sleeping in socks may help maintain an ideal body temperature of 98.6 degrees and increase blood flow which can contribute to a good night's sleep.

“The foot is the Grand Central Station of the body…[and] warming the feet using socks has many positive effects on the quality of sleep—prolonged sleep time, less awakenings during the sleep cycle and an accelerated sleep onset," explained Rock G. Positano, DPM, MSc, MPH, DSc, director of the Non-surgical Foot and Ankle Service at HSS.
