6 Essential Exercises for COVID-19 Recovery, According to a Physical Therapist
Sharlynn Tuohy, PT, physical therapist at HSS, shared six exercises that can be done at home when recovering from COVID-19, which include: scapular retraction, overhead scaption, pelvic tilt, single-leg leg lift, wall sit, and wall pushups.
Tuohy recommended to start slow and progress to 3 sets of 10 to 15 reps of each exercise three times per day. "When you're recovering, it's best to do short amounts of exercise throughout the day as opposed to doing everything all at once," she said.
For those recovering from a serious case of the virus, or were hospitalized, don’t attempt these exercises without first consulting your physician or a physical therapist, advised Tuohy.
