In a Health article, HSS primary care sports medicine physician Marci A. Goolsby, MD discussed signs that show an improvement in overall health other than a change in weight.

Dr. Goolsby said, "exercise has been proven to not only boost your daytime energy but your sleep quality too."

The article reported that those who participate in a long-term exercise program are able to sleep longer and more deeply than before they started working out.

Collecting data on your sleeping patterns can also be helpful. To do so, Dr. Goolsby suggested using a sleep tracker. "It can give you some general feedback," she noted.
